The TN Pickle Festival is taking over Barrelhouse by Gypsy Circus on Saturday, March 28. If you relish all things briny, this is your chance to get yourself into quite the pickle. Here’s what attendees can look forward to.
Eat: Crunch into a basket of fried pickles with creamy ranch, a barbecue basket topped with homemade pickle slaw, and wings soaked in dill pickle juice and finished with a tangy dill dry rub.
Drink: Pucker up for a pickle margarita, pickle martini, pickleback, pickle shots, and even pickle mead.
Compete:Join the fun with contests like a pickle toss competition and a pickle pet parade.
Between the Bassmaster Classic, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and One Knoxville SC’s home opener, it’s shaping up to be a busy weekend on Knoxville’s streets. Expect extra traffic, and check this list of road closures before you head out.
Development
The old Smokies Stadium in Kodak could soon be redeveloped. Take a peek at the proposals, including a concept that would feature an amphitheater, hotel, housing, retail, and dining. (WATE)

Over 700 trash collection bins in downtown Knoxville are set to be replaced with nine trash and recycling compactors. The first two compactors will land on West Church Avenue in two to three months. (Knoxville News Sentinel)

The 2026 Tulip Festival at Oakes Farm, about a 30-minute drive from Knoxville, begins tomorrow, March 14 and runs through Sunday, March 29. Tickets to wander the colorful U-pick tulip fields start at $15. Consider it your cue to stop and smell the flowers.
