The Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic, aka the “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing,” is casting off in Knoxville this weekend, Thursday, March 12-Sunday, March 15.

The championship tournament brings the sport’s top professionals to East Tennessee for three days of competition on the Tennessee River. Off the water, fans can take part in a lineup of free public events stretching from the riverfront to downtown to UT’s campus.

Here’s a rundown of tournament weekend + its biggest fan experiences.

Classic Media Day | Thursday, March 12 | 12-3 p.m.
Once an event strictly for credentialed media, this event is now open to fans. Make the ~30-min drive to Bass Pro Shops in Kodak for sponsor activations, food trucks, and meet-and-greets with the pros.

Daiwa Classic Kickoff Party | Thursday, March 12 | 5-8 p.m.
Tournament weekend officially gets underway with this fan celebration at Covenant Health Park. Expect live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities before the first lines hit the water.

Classic Takeoff | Friday, March 13-Sunday, March 15 | 7:45 a.m.
One of the weekend’s most electric traditions is the daily blastoff at Volunteer Landing, where fans watch anglers launch onto the river and start their hunt for championship-weight bass. Pro tip: Fuel up beforehand with breakfast to-go from nearby Matt Robb’s Biscuits.

Tailgate Party | Friday, March 13-Sunday, March 15 | Times vary
The action continues downtown at the Knoxville Convention Center, where a classic tailgate features games, giveaways, and a live studio show covering the day’s competition.

Bassmaster Classic Weigh-ins | Friday, March 13-Sunday, March 15 | 4:15 p.m.
Each afternoon, anglers bring their best bass to the scales during the official weigh-in at Food City Center. Don’t miss the crowning of the tourney champ on Sunday.

Held at the Knoxville Convention Center and World’s Fair Exhibition Hall, this sprawling attraction features vendors, the latest bass boats and gear, meet-and-greets with fishing legends, and plenty of giveaways.
