News Notes

Festival

Southern Skies Music and Whiskey Festival is pressing pause to make room for something new: KnoxWalls Murals and Music Festival. The street party-style celebration of local music and larger-than-life art will take over Emory Place on Saturday, May 30. (WVLT)

Development

Lone Tree Pass, a new Summit Hill development featuring 46 homes and 22,000 sqft of retail, is welcoming its first residents. Along its commercial corridor, future tenants include Flying Biscuit Cafe, Jaboni’s Pizza, and Treetop Coffee Shop. (Inside of Knoxville)

Civic

The City of Knoxville is inviting residents to weigh in on a proposed bike skills course at Holston River Park. Public meetings are scheduled in the coming weeks, offering a chance to learn more about the project and share feedback before plans move forward.

Open

The Black Dog — a new ’70s-inspired restaurant and brewery — is now open on North Central Street. Expect elevated bar fare, classic cocktails, and BYO-vinyl vibes. We’re excited to try the Hamburger Hell, stacked with fried green tomato, pimento cheese, and bacon.

Mansion Monday

Settle into your own slice of paradise on Fort Loudon Lake with this four-bedroom, four-bathroom estate in Farragut. Set on three private acres, its expansive lawn would be the perfect setting for summer barbecues, sunset picnics, or even a backyard wedding.

Kids

Time to get wild. Animal Encounters are back at Zoo Knoxville, giving little explorers the opportunity to hand-feed giraffes and ostriches, meet goats and sheep up close, step inside Budgie Landing to hang with feathered friends, and more.

Seasonal

Spring is finally only 18 days away. After a harsh winter, it’s a good idea to check on your roof. Schedule an inspection with the pros at Benton Roofing to stop potentially pricey roof problems in their tracks.*

Job

When you’ve got key roles to fill, skip shouting into the void and let us connect you with top talent. List your open positions with our business promo portal to simplify the search, and watch the applications start rolling in.

Shop

These best-selling doormats are your key to a spring home refresh, designed to be beautiful and functional (including being stain-resistant — no more sad, muddy rugs greeting your guests at the front door). Shop our favorites like the popular natural chevron Innerweave.*
