Indoor parenting is harder than outdoor parenting. But who wants to go out in this heat?
Lucky for us, there are plenty of indoor activities perfect for the kiddos around town.
Sporty squirts
Ice Chalet | Embrace the winter holiday season (or take a break from the summer heat) with a spin on the rink. Kids will remember the first time they’re able to let go of the edge and start living their figure skating dreams.
Indoor adventurers
Token Game Tavern| With a slushie + a pocket full of coins, kids can spend hours playing new and nostalgic arcade games. Just make sure to use up those coins before 11 p.m., when the venue closes to kids. Kids will remember getting the new high score on their favorite themed pinball machine.
Little learners
Muse Knoxville | Family memberships available | Explore the sound garden, maker space, illumination station, and 10+ other exhibits at this children’s science museum. Kids will remember getting up close and personal with the moon in the immersive planetarium.
The fun doesn’t have to end here. After reading the newsletter, head over to our games page. Games refresh with new challenges every day at 6 a.m. from crossword puzzle to Sudoku to themed word search.
One of my favorite Tennessee happenings is coming up in August — the world’s longest yard sale. The yard sale extends 690 miles and spans six states total. While there won’t be any major vendor stops in Knoxville, there will be multiple across the rest of the state.
Check out these tips from our Chattanooga-based coworker Haley, who is an avid shopper of the sale.
