Get in your steps as you sprint or stroll with your new friends at these clubs around the Knoxville area.

It feels like folks in Knoxville are always on the move, which might explain the number of walking and running clubs in the area. If you’re ready to take the next step in your fitness and social journey, lace up your sneakers and join a local club.

Ashe’s Bearden Beer Market — Join the group on Monday at 6:30 p.m. for a run followed by drinks; runners get $2 off draft beer.

Barrelhouse Run Club — Get ready for a crisp Monday night run starting at 6 p.m. at this cidery. All ability levels are invited to join in the fun, and of course, stick around for a drink afterwards.

The Long Run Club — This Marble City store hosts community runs on Tuesday + Thursday nights. On Tuesday, you can do a fun run or join the workout on Tom Black Track at UT. On Thursday, the group does an all-paces “nobody left behind” run that starts at University Commons shopping center.

KnoxTerra Running Club — Go the distance with this community-focused group that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, typically running 3.5-6 miles followed by food at a local restaurant. The group also meets on weekends for trail runs.

Slowkno Running Club — Speed isn’t the goal for this group that meets at Suttree Landing Park on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and on weekends. They aim to get moving, enjoy running, and create an inclusive community — but as you advance, you might find yourself participating in more local runs with your new friends.

Oak Ridge Running Club — Hit the ground running and start your Thursdays with a 5 a.m. run at various locations in the city. You can also get some weekend movement by joining the group at Oak Ridge Civic Center at 5 or 6 a.m.

Fleet Feet — Walk or run into the weekend with this Thursday night trek starting at 6:30 p.m. All levels are welcome, and movement usually lasts 30-60 minutes.

Run Club Knox — Join this club for a Thursday night run, 6:30 p.m., at your own pace. Routes are usually ~2 miles but vary by week.

South Knox Trail Runners — If you prefer to run in nature, this group meets at Meads Quarry for weekly treks on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. The route is usually 3.5-4 miles long.

Knox Girls Who Walk — This group goes for Saturday morning strolls where you can make friends and chat as you walk. Follow its Instagram page for details on the next walk location and for other social events.

Knoxville Track Club — If you’re an avid runner, or an aspiring avid runner, this group will connect you with runs in Knoxville. Members get discounted entry, and yearly membership start at about $40. The club also hosts two weekly run groups that are totally free to join:

  • Alliance Brewing — Meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. and get ready to run. All levels are welcome for 3-mile or 6-mile trails.
  • Runners Market — Head to this Wednesday evening group that takes off at 6:30 p.m. and usually runs the Third Creek Greenway or Sequoyah Hills. Afterwards, head to Hard Knox Pizza with your new friends.
