Southwest Airlines plans to come to McGhee Tyson Airport

The airline will start taking off in early 2026 and offer round-trip service to four destinations in the US.

Southwest Airlines has announced plans to start offering flights from McGhee Tyson Airport, marking one of the biggest expansions for Knoxville’s airport.

The expansion aims to help bolster the local tourism industry, generating more income for the state. The first flight is scheduled to depart for Nashville International Airport on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
